It’s OFFICIAL Silverwing’s FloormapVS2i is the WORLD’S leading MFL floor scanner.

FloormapVS2i in action

The FloormapVS2i computerised MFL corrosion detection, sizing and mapping tank floor scanner is the most widely operated MFL tank inspection system in the world. It has been purchased by both Inspection Companies and End Users around the world in some 40 plus countries at a rate of around 4 systems a month since it’s launch and sales show no sign of slowing. The easy to use custom designed data acquisition software not only captures all the MFL signals but also analyses and displays the location and severity of the corrosion in real time. Data is shown, along with positional information from the optical encoder, on both standard and annular plates. This, when coupled together with the off line reporting software, which is used to analyse the results of the tank inspection allowing the user to view either a complete overview of the tank floor condition or individual plates , makes the FloormapVS2i the system of choice for companies in the storage tank inspection business.

The FloormapVS2i is designed for the inspection of above ground storage tank floors. It generates a CAD drawing of the tank floor detailing the corrosion severity in an easy to understand format where the severity is represented in different colours similar to an ultrasonic C-scan image. The FloormapVS2i positions defects to a +/- 3mm accuracy on an 8 metre scan and uses a dual sizing procedure enabling the FloormapVS2i's sizing accuracy to be to within +/- 5% on most corrosion types. This accuracy is as good if not better than most manual UT. Once the tank inspection has finished the results are exported to the off line reporting software. This software is used to analyse the results of the tank inspection allowing the user to view either a complete overview of the tank floor condition or individual plates. It is even possible to simultaneously view two inspections of the same tank allowing the operator / engineer to assess corrosion growth rates.

The reporting software does not just allow the operator to view the corrosion severity. It also has the capability to add inspection results from other methods such as Vacuum Box, UT, Visual, MPI, DP plus allowing digital photo’s to be embedded providing visual evidence of any anomalies. As they say a picture paints a thousand words and they also make the interpretation of the tank condition so much easier. Another feature of the FloormapVS2i reporting software is the Patch plate design tool. This allows the operator to simply draw and position the required patch plates in software which then produces a cutting list detailing the amount of material required to make the repairs, the dimensions of the individual repair plates and most importantly their precise location.
