Liam McCaffrey has over 8 years experience in the storage tank industry. After graduating in Mechanical Engineering from Glamorgan University, Liam started his career at Pertroplus Tank Storage, Milford Haven, before moving to SemLogistics, Milford Haven and subsequently SemCrude Cushing, Oklahoma as a project manager.
Whilst in Oklahoma, Liam project managed the construction, inspection and commissioning of storage tanks as part of a large oil terminal expansion project. This role involved the development of work scopes for tank repairs, tank construction and tank inspections in accordance the API 653 standard.
Following contract Completion Liam transferred back to the UK where he took up the position of Inspection Engineer for SemLogistics Tank Storage Milford Haven responsible for the maintenance and inspection of storage tanks and pipelines.
During his time with SemGroup Liam gained his EEMUA 159 tank integrity assessor and API 653 tank inspection, repair, alteration and reconstruction qualification.
Liam’s appointment enables Silverwing to provide a complete tank inspection solution. We can tailor an inspection specification to the customer’s requirements or if preferred work to a prewritten specification or standard including full integrity assessment meeting the guidelines laid down by EEMUA 159 and API 653 including "fitness for purpose" assessment.
