Silverwing to Launch Two New Products At ASNT Fall Conference
Floormap3D
Silverwing, the world’s leading manufacturer of MFL Storage tank inspection equipment will be demonstrating its new Floormap3D instrument incorporating STARS technology for top and bottom surface discrimination.
MFL is the mostly widely used technology for tank inspection, but until now has not been able determine whether corrosion damage is on the top side or under floor. Working with Swansea University, Silverwing has developed Surface Topology Air-gap Reluctance Sensor (STARS) technology to now deliver this capability.
Coupled with the 196 sensor MFL array and Silverwing’s full reporting package the Floormap3D with STARS is the most capable tank floor scanner available.
Key Features
- Top and Bottom Defect Discrimination
- High Resolution sensor head for enhance defect detection and sizing
- Measurements through coatings up to 6mm thick
- Full floor mapping and data capture for offline processing
- Extensive reporting tools for defect mapping and patch plate design
RMS2 - Rapid Motion Scanner
Driven by the market need for ever more extensive inspection coverage, yet demanding faster inspections, NDT engineers need high quality, high speed tools to meet the challenge.
Silverwing has responded to this challenge by developing the RMS2 high speed remote access C-scan system. With a scan speed of over 28 inches per second (730mm) and resolution down to 1mm step the RMS2 delivers high quality inspections with minimised inspection times. Add to this its 100ft (30m) climbing capability removing the need for scaffolding or rope access, significant gains can be made in inspection programmes.
Offline reporting software with a free distribution viewer speeds reporting and enables sharing of inspection results to key decision makers.
The RMS2 has been extensively tested in extreme conditions and has proven its reliability with new high strength scanning components and improved traction motors.
